Job Responsibilities

The person in this position will be the primary contact for all policy matters before the State Board of Education (SBE). Coordinate with the Superintendent regarding matters before the State Board of Education and is the primary point of contact between the Superintendent's Office and the State Board of Education. Prepare and deliver presentations to the State Board of Education on behalf of the Superintendent and/or the various offices of the agency. Attend events on behalf of the Superintendent and give presentations when required. Serve as the Superintendent's designee, as requested, on various boards and commissions. Coordinate with the Deputy Superintendent for Legal Affairs and Office of General Cousel regarding regulations, model policies, and other policy matters before the State Board of Education. Work with legislative delegations on all matters related to the State Board of Education, including filling vacant positions on the State Board of Education. Plan and prepare annual board orientation and training. Proactively seek opportunities to supplement board member training throughout the year. Serve in a policy support and advisory capacity to the SBE. Provide assistance to the Superintendent as required.

This position is located in the Office of Government Relations and Policy.

A Bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.
