Performs special assignments of sensitive and critical nature and identifies opportunities for improved organizational effectiveness. Independently plans and executes major tasks, including those involving issues of recognized complexity. Supports Equal Opportunity Compliance goals, and TVA's strategic initiatives to achieve those goals. Ensures a customer-focused, strategic, professional, and consolidated approach to projects and initiatives. Responsible for strategically reviewing EOC programs and processes, including, but not limited to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), MD-715, Disability, Reasonable Accommodations, Complaints Management & Adjudication and Anti-Harassment to ensure compliance with EEOC regulations. Effectively prepares federal mandated reports to present to the ELT, internal and external stakeholders. Supports the development of strategic organizational presentations and materials, and provides counsel on business issues.
JOB DIMENSIONS :
Supervisory Responsibility - Nondirect; indirectly with respect to functional supervision of EOC related initiatives.
Budget Responsibility - Responsible for monitoring the EOC budget.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Serves as advisor to Senior Manager, EOC by providing expert consulting, project management, and implementation of management services to meet needs for TVA-wide initiatives.
- Assists and advises the Senior Manager, EOC on a variety of strategic, technical, and operational matters including with regards to performance metrics, budget, business planning and compliance reviews, managerial reporting and employee engagement.
- Responsible for the coordination and completion of federally mandated reports, as well as internal and external agency inquiries and reporting requests.
- Oversees the process and outcomes for ensuring efficient and effective utilization of the enterprise leadership team for achieving TVA-wide initiatives.
- Manages a wide variety of high visibility and high impact projects and special assignments. Assignments often require the use of extreme diplomacy and comprehensive change management in addressing sensitive issues and concerns.
- Remains constantly aware of and engaged in identifying best practices and emerging needs of the CAO office. Takes a proactive approach to implement improvements with regard to offered products and services.
- Collaborates with all SBU's to identify and implement processes improvements for efficiency gains in executive alignment and engagement.
- Serves as a representative on teams, committees, and activities internal and external to TVA.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education - Bachelor's degree in a business, or related of study or equivalent related education, training and experience.
Experience - 10 or more years of experience in the utility industry is desired. Prior experience in addressing diverse activities at the TVA Board or SBU executive level is preferred.
Certification/License, etc - Federal EEO counseling, mediation, or other conflict resolution certification is desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - A broad understanding of TVA organizations and their relationships and the complexity of TVA functioning as a regulatory agency. Must have a thorough working knowledge of the Federal EEO complaint process. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to engage a variety of internal and external contacts. Must have a good working knowledge and understanding of EEO counseling, the complaint process, 29 CFR 1614, MD 110, and the TVA EEO Compliance Program.
