SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under general direction, this position is responsible for organizing, planning, and implementing policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure that health system emergency management programs effectively support system entities as well as generally accepted national standards, regulations, and codes. Implements designated health system training programs and coordinates maintenance for shared services disaster supply and equipment inventory. Develops and distributes reports, plans and coordinates after action reviews for system functions. Promote awareness and education of appropriate and effective Business Resilience and Continuity (BRC) practices throughout the Penn State Health System. Support designated members of Management and authorized departmental personnel in accessing and using specialized software applications, and support entities with answering questions, concerns and suggestions in a timely and effective fashion. Serve as the department technical specialist for operational and business resilience software. Support and coordinate electronic reporting of Business Resilience and Continuity information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Health Preparedness, Disaster Management, Safety & Health, or a related technical field required.
  • Four (4) years of related work experience required.
  • FEMA IS-100.c, IS-200.c, IS-700 and IS-800 training required.
  • FEMA ICS-300 and ICS-400 training required within 12 months of hire or transfer to role.
  • CPR/ AED within 6 months of employment required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM)/ Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) Certification preferred.
