The Program Manager is responsible for full program lifecycle execution, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and customer engagement, while ensuring deliverables meet quality, contractual, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a key customer interface across government and industry stakeholders and may also support business development activities, including identifying and capturing new opportunities.

The ideal candidate brings a balance of structured program discipline and practical, hands-on execution. They are comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where clarity, accountability, and adaptability are all essential. Compliance, speed, and operational excellence are expected to work together to support mission outcomes.

Essential Job Duties:

Business Development Support

Support and/or lead capture and proposal activities, including technical approach, management plans, past performance, and basis-of-estimate inputs. Maintain awareness of customer priorities, acquisition strategies, and program roadmaps to help position Albers for follow-on and new work.

Program Execution

Own end-to-end program execution from award through closeout, including management of scope, schedule, cost, and contract deliverables (CDRLs). Maintain program management artifacts such as PMPs, IMS, EACs, and customer/internal reporting.

Integrated Team Leadership

Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and contracts. Foster alignment, accountability, and consistent execution across multi-site teams.

Customer Interface

Serve as a primary point of contact for U.S. Government customers, contracting officers, CORs, and prime contractor program offices. Prepare and deliver program reviews, status updates, and corrective action plans with clarity and transparency.

Risk, Budget & Compliance

Develop and maintain program risk registers, mitigation plans, and corrective actions. Manage program financial performance, including variance analysis and EVMS reporting where applicable. Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and contract requirements throughout program execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive program management experience on U.S. Government defense contracts
  • Experience managing programs from award through completion, including SOWs, CDRLs, and customer deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)

  • Experience managing program budgets, cost reporting, and EACs
  • Ability to develop and maintain risk registers and mitigation plans
  • Experience supporting proposal development and capture activities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (MBA, MS Engineering, Systems Management, or related field)
  • PMP certification or DAU Program Management Level III certification
  • 10+ years of experience managing DoD programs across multiple contract types
  • Experience with Cost-Plus and Firm-Fixed-Price contracts
  • Background in aerospace manufacturing, aircraft modification, munitions integration, or ISR systems
  • Experience working with DCMA, DCAA, and contracting officers
  • Familiarity with EVMS, IPMDAR reporting, and audit processes
  • Experience supporting ACAT programs or major defense acquisition efforts
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
