Full Job Description
Lead, plan and execute propulsion system programs while managing Virtual Engineering (VE) activities. Develop the VE scorecard and workplan aligned with the Propulsion Systems Development Process (PSDP), program timelines, and DVP&R requirements. Ensure all functional requirements are met, including integration, validation, and compliance across functional disciplines, including:
  • Coordinate the VE work plan across propulsion groups, vehicle teams, suppliers, testing, program management, and other functional VE teams, ensuring proper sequencing of complex workstreams (models, analyses, and deadlines) are executed.
  • Collaborate with product release teams to confirm design requirements are addressed in the VE scorecard.
  • Summarize and report program status through VE scorecards and workplans as key KPI deliverables to leadership (VP, Directors, Chief Engineers, Integration Managers, Program Management) using standardized formats and processes.
  • Validate VE budget estimates and ensure alignment with required task and incorporate into ER&D rollup.
  • Actively contribute to program reviews, ER&D reviews, and critical issue discussions.
  • Ensure VE requirements are included in sourcing packages.
  • Negotiate and secure timely delivery of models from suppliers.
  • Identify VE-related risks during analysis and develop mitigation plans in alignment with PRCs and PFDI groups.
  • Manage delivery of synthesis models for partners, ensuring quality, configuration integrity, and on-time completion.
  • Adhere to established program execution processes and recommend improvements for future initiatives.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience with a strong background in propulsion systems.
  • Proficiency in CAE for propulsion components, including engines, transmissions, axles/drivelines, engine systems, batteries, and electric motors.
  • In-depth knowledge of propulsion and vehicle product development processes and timing.
  • Proven experience leading teams and executing full programs to meet functional requirements through simulation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with demonstrated problem-solving ability.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in vehicle and powertrain functional integration.
  • Strong project management skills for coordinating multiple programs.
  • Proven ability to lead concurrent programs, prioritize projects, and resolve conflicts between functional requirements.
