OverviewLMI is seeking a Program and Events Coordinator who will provide program and event support to the DoW Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program. This will include supporting full-lifecycle event planning, public speaking and special projects.
Telework is available for this position with occasional meetings at LMI Headquarters located in Tysons Corner, VA.
Responsibilities
- Full Lifecycle Event Coordination and Execution (external and SMART hosted)
- Coordinate pre-event planning and logistics, including timelines, vendors, venues, registration, attendee communications, materials, speaker requests and coordination, and event requirements.
- Manage on-site event execution, serving as the primary coordinator for vendors, attendees, speakers, and internal stakeholders while troubleshooting issues and keeping the event on schedule.
- Complete post-event activities, including event breakdown, invoice and budget reconciliation, attendee feedback, reporting, documentation, and follow-up.
- Research STEM events and conferences and provide recommendations based on potential return on investment, audience demographics, budget and historical success
- Provide information sessions to university partners and students
- Develop and produce content for reports and PowerPoint briefs
- Provide support for special projects:
- Support the tracking and coordination of team projects, tasks, timelines, and workflows to ensure priorities and deliverables stay on schedule.
- Support stakeholder engagement and communication, including gathering updates, coordinating follow-up, documenting decisions, and communicating project status.
- Support process improvement and project execution by organizing information, monitoring action items, and helping teams stay aligned on priorities and next steps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience with full lifecycle event coordination and execution.
- Must be able to adapt to changing environments within DoW and be flexible with expectations to outreach tasks.
- Strong public speaking skills
- Experience supporting complex projects.
- Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in federal government or federal government consulting
- Experience using JIRA
- Experience using ServiceNow
- Experience with process improvement
- CGMP or CMP certification
Target Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000
