Summary

About the Position: Serves as a Program Analyst at the Office of the U.S. Army Surgeon General / U.S. Army Medical Command performing a wide range of administrative and analytical duties in support of the Office of the U.S. Army Surgeon General / U.S. Army Medical Command Optical Fabrication mission.

Duties

Help

  • Research and analyzes new or proposed legislation and regulations to determine program requirements and impacts.
  • Identify resources and risks at varying levels of program operation and translates funding to risk.
  • Assess possible risks of the various alternatives in program direction.
  • Develop detailed plans for long-range implementation of the program.
  • Develop alternatives and options that are designed to meet requirements in a variety of physical and environmental circumstances.
  • Prepare briefings, information papers, and studies for senior leaders and decision makers.
  • Establish criteria for identifying and analyzing trends in measuring organizational effectiveness.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in in researching and analyzing new or proposed legislation and regulations to determine program requirements and impacts; preparing briefings, information papers, and studies for senior leaders; and developing detailed plans for long-range implementation of the Optical Fabrication program.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
  • This is a Career Program (CP) 53.
  • Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
