POSITION SUMMARYWe are currently seeking a
Production Support Supervisor. The supervisor will directly supervise employees in the areas of shipping, receiving, material handling and inventories. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a manner consistent with company expectations, policies and philosophies.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties:
- Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments assuring parts are packaged and preserved in a manner that prevents damage during transit.
- Responsible for updating Microsoft Access Database with corresponding machine, due date, quantity, and date received.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipments in crates and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states. Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance or outside services for repair.
- Maintains regulatory logs/records for trucks and drivers.
- Compiles records of unfilled orders. Post weight and shipping charges. Prepares bills of lading. Posts all shipments to Sonaca North America's system.
- Responsible for set up of tooling for production and inspection as required
- Identifies and implements improvements in packaging methods and type to reduce cost and improve protection.
- Operate fork trucks to retrieve various tooling to support production.
- Oversee cycle counting activity.
- Manage the order generation, order follow up and physical inbound supply chain for an assigned number of items / suppliers.
- Continuously monitor and follow up inbound deliveries.
- Managing inventory levels of assigned items to achieve sales, inventory, and material turnover objectives.
- Responsible for overseeing the daily receiving, storage, and distribution of all materials
- Responsible for the physical layout and efficient operation of warehouse locations within the facility

Pay Range - $85,000 - $90,000 annually EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES- 5 + years supervisory experience in shipping and receiving and/or material handling or inventory management preferably in the area of sheet metal fabrication.
- Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.
- Experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques as they relate to shipping/receiving and material handling.
- Cycle counting experience.
- Ability to understand technical specifications and to convey such information in a manner that is clearly understood by layman, and not subject to misinterpretation.
- Experience with AS400 and Job scope preferred.
- Must possess the necessary leadership traits to assure the effective, consistent performance of departmental activities.
Physical Requirements- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
- May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
