Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Supervisor / Workplace Organization Pillar Lead is a hands-on manufacturing leadership role responsible for
daily operational execution and implementation of Workplace Organization methodology within the Rocky Mount Model Line, during our
3rd shift from 6:00 PM-6:30 AM.
This individual will lead and coach production teams while developing capability in the Cornerstone Production System. The role will receive methodology and tool training and will be expected to rapidly apply that learning on the manufacturing floor.
The successful candidate does not need to enter the role as a Workplace Organization pillar expert. Strong manufacturing leadership, continuous improvement experience, problem-solving capability, and the ability to learn and apply structured methods are critical.
Key Responsibilities- Lead daily manufacturing execution with focus on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and people.
- Own Workplace Organization implementation and performance within the assigned model-line area.
- Establish team roles, zone ownership, baseline conditions, Activity Boards and execution plans.
- Lead and coach teams in 5S, red tagging, visual management and workplace standards.
- Identify workplace losses including unnecessary motion, waiting, searching, handling and other non-value-added activity.
- Apply 3M - Muda, Mura and Muri analysis to identify waste, variation and overburden.
- Support time observations and VAA/NVAA analysis.
- Partner with the Process Engineer to use Yamazumi/work-balance analysis to identify workload imbalance and improve operator balance.
- Develop, implement and sustain standard work and visual work instructions.
- Improve ergonomics, point-of-use organization and operator movement.
- Lead daily Activity Board reviews and ensure abnormalities have owners, countermeasures and closure dates.
- Coach Team Leaders and employees in problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Verify implementation and sustainment through floor observation, audits and performance results.
- Support expansion of successful Model Line practices to additional production areas.
Key Performance Measures5S audit performance, productivity/UPH, labor efficiency, standard-work adherence, NVAA reduction, ergonomic improvement, scrap, overtime, action closure and sustained operating performance.
QualificationsRequired- Manufacturing operations, production leadership or related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, operational excellence or structured problem solving.
- Strong communication, organization and accountability skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new methods and translate training into floor-level execution.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and Material Flow.
Preferred- Previous supervisory or Team Leader experience.
- Experience with one or more of the following: 5S, standard work, visual management, Kaizen, time study, waste elimination or line balancing.
- Previous Lean/WCM/TPS or similar operating-system experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is
$75,000 - $87,500 + bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
