The Production Supervisor will lead manufacturing operations for the Passenger Boarding Bridge product line at our Ogden, Utah facility. This position is responsible for overseeing a large manufacturing area that supports the fabrication, welding, assembly, electrical integration, and finishing of highly customized passenger boarding bridges.
Unlike a traditional high-volume assembly environment, this operation produces customer-specific configurations that require strong coordination across multiple manufacturing disciplines while maintaining safety, quality, and production schedules. The ideal candidate is an engaging manufacturing leader who can develop people, build strong teams, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced union manufacturing environment.
YOUR IMPACT
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
• Supervise and develop a team of approximately 40 to 50 hourly production employees on first shift, ensuring daily production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and with a focus on quality.
• Lead manufacturing operations supporting fabrication, welding, assembly, electrical, and finishing processes for customized passenger boarding bridges.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, safety, and continuous improvement while coaching employees and developing future leaders.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Operations teams to resolve production issues and maintain schedule commitments.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on leadership and employee support.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, workflow efficiency, and employee engagement.
• Coordinate production activities across multiple manufacturing disciplines to ensure efficient execution and timely delivery of customer orders.
• Monitor production metrics, staffing needs, material availability, and workflow to proactively address operational challenges.
• Promote compliance with all company safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support employee development through coaching, performance management, recognition, and succession planning.
• Partner with other Production Supervisors and Operations Leadership to ensure consistent execution across manufacturing operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED with three (3) or more years of manufacturing experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience leading production teams within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising large hourly workforces in fabrication, welding, assembly, or industrial manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods, or metal manufacturing operations.
• Experience leading cross-functional manufacturing teams involving assembly, electrical, mechanical, or fabrication processes.
• Demonstrated success coaching employees, improving team performance, and building a positive manufacturing culture.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, or employee engagement.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience working in a union manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience manufacturing large industrial equipment or other highly configurable products is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Shift: First shift, approximately 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
• Manufacturing Environment: Passenger Boarding Bridge manufacturing supporting fabrication, welding, assembly, electrical integration, carpentry, and finishing operations.
• Workforce: Supervises approximately 40 to 50 hourly employees within a union manufacturing environment.
• Overtime: Managers are expected to support production needs as required, including occasional overtime and rotating weekend coverage when production schedules require additional support.
• Collaboration: Frequent interaction with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Operations Leadership, and fellow Production Supervisors.
Pay Range:
$73,200.00 - $117,800.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
