Full Job Description
Primary Focus

The primary role of the Production Supervisor is to lead a team of employees to execute & meet expectations set forth by plant goals from Production Manager or Plant Manager.

Specific Accountabilities

SAFETY:

  • Ensure all JHAs are up to date.


  • Confirm all TMs have reviewed, understood & signed off (trained) to all JHAs within department


  • Upkeep of New / Transferred TMs into department have been trained on all applicable JHAs.


  • 100% on-time completion of monthly Layered Safety Audits (LSA)


  • Complete the required number of Hazard ID and Coaching Moments on a monthly basis.


  • Communicate DAILY safety message (DSU), Safety Incidents & Actions through Pre-Shift Meeting


  • Lead RCA & Corrective Actions to any Safety Incidents that occur within department.


  • Ensure 100% accountability to 24/7/14:


  • 24 hrs - All incidents reported into EHSIS within 24 hrs of incident


  • 7 days - Investigation conducted within 7-days of incident


  • 14 days - Corrective actions completed within 14-days of incident


  • Hold team accountable to Violation of Safety Rules Policy (12-00.101.GLBL)


QUALITY:

  • Understand & lead adherence to Process Flow Diagram w/ line balance


  • Ensure teams are following station discipline defined per MERP/Task List


  • Ensure teams are following Safety Culture inspection process identifying internal found issues


  • Lead RCA for TOP repeating quality issues in department / line


  • Lead corrective actions implementation from RCA


  • Hold teams accountable through coaching, training & progressive disciplinary process when root cause is identified as MAN


  • Ensure 100% of Quality Alerts reviewed with TMs with training sign-off


PEOPLE / ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Ensure lines is running at RTO w/ float (no extra positions)


  • Conduct daily audits of UKG systems, focusing on timekeeping, attendance, and job codes. Correct punches DAILY.


  • Lead progressive disciplinary actions with TMs (Safety, Quality & HR policies)


  • Hold TMs accountable to attendance policy (STO, PTO, unexcused absences)


  • Ensure consistent and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts, setting an example for the team and supporting overall operation


  • Clarify / communicate all goals (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity) to entire team through Pre-Shift meetings, CCC boards, etc


  • Provide continuous support on the production floor


  • 100% on-time completion of annual merit process (Performance Review + Merit Recommendation within budget)


  • On-time completion of 90-day onboarding checklist with all new hires


  • Ensure cross-training of TMs within line / department to meet targets


  • Maintain line proficiency chart documenting cross-training of team


  • Positively recognize teams (ex: Pre-Shift meetings, Bravo recognitions, daily "Thank You").


PRODUCTIVITY

  • Lead waste walks within department


  • Weekly 5S audits completed on-time & corrective actions completed


  • Train team on Direct Labor Efficiency (DLE) target & ensure team is meeting expectations


  • Ensure the MERP system is updated accurately every day before the end of shift.


GENERAL

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Lead DAILY Pre-Shift Meeting ensuring all topics covered (Recognitions, Safety, Quality, HR, Productivity & Game Plan)

Communication is primarily internal to the assigned work team, team leaders, other line Production Supvs, other Department Supvs, managers, etc

Working Conditions

  • This position requires shop work. When working in the shop, one must exercise caution as this environment presents many naturally-occurring and potentially worker-produced hazards including small or large projectiles, contamination with toxic gasses/liquids, impalement, crushing, electrocution, explosion, immolation, decapitation and asphyxiation. Safety policies (i.e. respiratory protection) must be adhered to at all times while visiting, touring and/or working in the shop. Appropriate personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and others) must be worn at all times where required.


  • It is very important that the incumbent of this position is able to work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and working safely.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product.


Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to: Production Manager or Plant Manager


HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,000-$93,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
