Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in the production and/or processing departments. This role focuses on ensuring employee safety, product safety/quality and asset performance while delivering on time production plan within lines/shift. Proactive partnership with functional areas (Safety, Quality, HR, Supply Chain, etc.) to enable effective execution and delivery of product to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a high standard of quality for the products produced and adheres to company/customer specifications.
  • Ensures high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
  • Enforces adherence to site safety standards and quality regulatory compliance (PPE, LOTO, GMPs, HACCP, allergen control, etc.)
  • Aligns departmental activities in accordance to production schedules, ensuring effective material and labor utilization.
  • Oversees sanitation activities within department to ensure compliance with SSOPs, GMPs and food safety standards
  • Address deviations to standards and support root cause investigations.
  • Facilitates the controlling of inventory by properly using SAP system and monitoring the use of SAP by employees.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
  • Maintains and monitors process control paperwork in accordance with HACCP recommendations, including but not limited to: SPC weight control.
  • Confers with other Leads and Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and across the site as needed.
  • Ensures adherence to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Supervises department for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.
  • Oversees the work activities and professional training and development of direct reports.
  • Works with the Associate Manager and/or Sr Manager to attain goals, carry out strategies, plans, and policies to increase profitability and success of the factory.
  • Implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Assists in developing and carrying out department's goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Approves payroll and amends timecard errors for hourly employees.
  • Monitors employee's adherence to company rules and policies and takes necessary corrective action if needed.
  • Assists in reviewing and maintaining crewing levels and optimizing to meet labor cost targets.
  • Participates/leads continuous improvement efforts to improve ways to control labor and supply costs and/or increase production efficiency.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Three (3) years Manufacturing experience required
  • Two (2) year Supervisory experience required
  • Previous experience in a USDA regulated food facility preferred
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees
  • Ability to influence and promote change on all levels of the organization
  • Sound technical skills, logical ability, and strong problem analysis and resolutions skills with a strong operational focus
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and business ethics
  • Ability to gather and analyze all types of data, identify the appropriate relationships between the different data anticipate business directions and recommend fact based decisions
  • Prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines
  • Good interpersonal, as well as strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and other digital solutions
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus


The approximate pay range for this position is $79,000 to $102,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
