Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY :

This person is responsible for leading the day-to-day production activities to achieve performance goals in the areas or safety, quality, cost, delivery, in a high performing work team environment. Must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect safety, part quality, production efficiency, continuous improvement, etc. The Production Supervisor will also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
  • Provides leadership for production areas and the team members.
  • Drives operations to ensure production quality and quantity targets are achieved.
  • Establishes strong and effective working relationships that are conducive to maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Ensures that team members are trained and understand their roles, responsibilities, and are given appropriate performance feedback, including annual performance appraisals.
  • Communicates with team members providing both positive feedback when appropriate and addressing disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Responsible for employee timecard management, vacation scheduling, and manpower planning.
  • Understands and applies policies consistently and fairly to team members.
  • Promotes and drives the organizations vision and utilization of Truck Production System (Lean Manufacturing) methodologies.
  • Champions change and facilitates team related functions to improve the business performance.
  • Maintains and improves employee relations.
  • Works closely with team members across departments to establish priorities ensuring on-time shipments to customers, meeting quality expectations, and other activities as needed.
  • Management and engagement of uptime management and downtime escalation.
  • Ensures compliance with the plant policies and procedures including requirements for TS16949 and ISO14001.
  • Ensures compliance with all Product Safety Procedure requirements; fully understands and ensures compliance with Product Safety Escalation Process.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :
Education
  • Requires a Bachelor degree Business Administration or similar field.
  • Greenbelt Certification preferred.
Experience
  • Requires at least five years of supervising a team of 20 or more in a manufacturing environment with Lean Methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading people, driving a positive work environment is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Statistical evaluation software familiarity a plus.
Skills
  • Strong Problem solving skills required.
  • Strong Written and Oral communications skills are required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities is required.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles is required.
Possible weekend work and overtime required.
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Bowling Green, KY is $72,000 - $108,000 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
