Job description

Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective production Department planning, policies, and procedures.
• Assists Senior Management in developing short- and long-term goals and objectives and provides suggestions and recommendations.
• Participates in developing Department policies and procedures and ensures that they support and complement Company-wide strategic objectives.
• Ensure that policies are updated and in accordance with evolving production and quality standards.

Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Production functions.
• Oversees production and assembly processes. Supervises assembly, inspection, and shipment of products.
• Monitors and supervise production quality, and inspection of products.
• Regulates workflow to ensure maximum production capacity. Monitors the floor production schedule to ensure that products are completed according to deadlines.

Manufacturing Performance:
• Plan and ensure manufacturing areas and resources are prepared and trained in production according to technical requirements, production rates, schedules, quality requirements and cost objectives.
• Oversee production process performance and adherence to cost objectives.
• Manage production issues and recovery plans, ensuring timely customer deliveries and maintaining quality standards.
• Manage and propose cost reduction plans and ensure alignment between local operations and program demands.
Effectively supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
• Provides leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication.
• Trains, advises, and counsels employees on current production methods. Provides suggestions to improve performance and productivity.
• Conducts performance appraisals as required. Formulates and implements employee corrective actions as needed.
• Assists with personnel decisions including hiring, terminations, wage decisions, and promotions.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.
• Works closely with purchasing, and engineering departments to maintain schedules and implement changes and revisions in operational procedures.
• Provides assistance and support to related departments as required.
• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

The Production Superintendent oversees the manufacturing operation, manages employees, plans and makes changes according to production schedule, promotes safety, supports and communicates company goals, rules, and standards to employees. Promotes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.

This position is responsible for defining, analyzing, and achieving quality, efficiency, productivity, and delivery goals for each assigned area. This role reports to the Production Manager or Operations Manager.

Strategy & Decision Making: Consult on and manage the execution of operational activities from industrialization plans, process improvements or introduction of new manufacturing processes as well as design changes from DFMA reviews. Consults on and proposes modifications to meet objectives whether they be cost, quality, certification or customer driven.
Budget Management: Tracks and optimizes recurring cost in line with budget, as well as track and manage non-recurring costs such as Industrialization labor hours and tooling, implementing cost reduction strategies throughout the course of production of the program.
Performance Oversight: Ensure production readiness is at a level of maturity which enables quality, cost, and schedule targets are met or exceeded. Implement corrective and recovery actions off the back of effective RCCA.
Collaboration: Lead coordination between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality teams throughout serial production o

Candidate skills & requirements

Education and Experience:
• B.S degree in a related technical field (e.g.: Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer/Technology, Aeronautics Engineer, or Electrical Engineer). Plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Quality Engineer, Production Control Engineer or related Engineering capacity.

Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, methodologies, and technologies relevant to the industry.
• Understanding production flow, and the ability to coordinate and optimize supply processes.
• Ability to analyze and manage costs in production and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation, including design specifications and industrial standards.
• 5S and Lean tools.
• Train and develop production supervisors to perform their activities effectively and to grow in line with the career development plan.
• Coordinate overtime with supervisors and the heads of support areas.
• Define quality, efficiency, and delivery goals for each area in alignment with facility objectives, in coordination with engineering and quality leaders.
• Coordinate area resources among supervisors according to capacity analysis and/or customer priorities.
• Define manufacturing priorities based on production schedule tracking and/or customer priorities.
• Establish actions to improve quality, productivity, and on-time delivery performance within the area under your responsibility.
• Maintain communication with the line lead regarding internal quality actions and personnel certification control.
• Optimize overtime and non-productive time costs.
• Actively participate in improvement projects within your area.
• Take leadership alongside engineering and quality leaders to ensure standardization of production processes.
• Ensure achievement of 5S and GPI goals for the supervisors under your responsibility.
• Support supervisors by ensuring the implementation of discipline and absenteeism control in coordination with HR.
• Implement and ensure your team applies health, safety, and environmental measures necessary to maintain personnel's physical integrity.
