Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans, supports, and implements total quality programs.  Designs, specifies, and installs quality control sampling systems, testing mechanisms, and equipment.  Formulates and/or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards. 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of quality experience, with an understanding of advanced quality engineering practices, principles, and processes.
  • Minimum 5-7 years diverse professional experience including strategic decision making within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, ability to lead and manage several large and complex projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others through support, training, etc. 
  • Ability to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization.  Able to represent the company in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to thoroughly research, recommend, and oversee implementation of new products, materials, processes, etc. and present information.
  • ​​​​​​​Prior experience with IATF 16949 processes
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process submissions, Geometric Dimensions & Tolerancing, Flow Diagrams, FMEA’s, Control Plans, Statistics, and fixture development based on part GD&T
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic measurement tools (height gauge, vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, indicator, etc) 
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis using various problem solving techniques including 8D, 5 Why, A3.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of plant personnel with ease
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.  Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate cross-functional team meetings
  • Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs

DUTIES:

  • Provides quality engineering support to assure that customer issues are appropriately championed for quick, accurate issue resolution and customer satisfaction with Magna Electronics’ response.
  • Plans, supports, and implements total quality programs utilizing customer specific requirements concerning APQP, FMEA’s Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Statistical Techniques & PPAP’s.  Defines scope, plans, organizes, leads and directs technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities for new and existing programs.
  • Responsible to assure that quality systems meet or exceed IATF16949 standards within the division. 
  • Plans, supports, and implements total quality programs.  Defines scope, plans, organizes, leads and directs technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities for new and existing programs.
  • Designs, specifies, and installs quality control sampling systems, testing mechanisms, and equipment.  Formulates and/or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards.    
  • Serves as a liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources.  Serves as a resource by providing a problem solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential quality problems.
  • Investigates and solves manufacturing-related problems in assigned area using formal problem-solving tools. 
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
