About the role
Position Summary

The Production Planning Supervisor will ensure that customer orders are planned and produced in accordance with customer requirements and within confirmed timeframe. They will analyze incoming orders and forecasted demand to determine and execute daily production schedules. Using forecast, market intelligence, and actual customer requirements, they will determine timing and volumes of production. Coordination and communication with Sales, Account Management, Production, Quality and Logistics in achieving the objective will be key.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A. Manage the Flavor Production Planning personnel in establishing material management standards, i.e.:
  • Efficient/economical batch sizes
  • Routing information
  • Material availability
  • Toll Manufacturing
  • Work with Inventory Manager on expired and disposition of slow moving and obsolete inventory
  • Strengthen the internal supply chain by developing efficient and effective communication channels
  • Assist in the development of training requirements for planners
  • Be back-up for planners when needed at the different sites (Teterboro, Branchburg, Elyria)
  • Maintain updated documentation on various Planning functions

B. Monitor published production schedule and report KPI's
  • Validate schedule with demonstrated capacities
  • Lead continuous improvement process/opportunities as they relate to schedule adherence
  • Overall Inventory Levels, Slow Moving and Expired materials

C. Maintain and enforce data integrity
  • Develop and enforce data integrity disciplines within the department Inventory accuracy and accountability
  • Review and correct master data issues effecting Planning and Scheduling (MRP 1-4).
  • Provide timely feedback through communication to Production, Customer Service, QC, Purchasing, Logistics .

D. Work with Planners to continuously improve planning and scheduling processes:
  • Review and report forecast deficiencies to Divisions.
  • Assist planners in priority scheduling.
  • Reduce disruptions to material allocations implement improvements to reduce costs and increase service levels.

E. Supervision and development of staff
  • Prepare goals and objectives with all team members.
  • Provide personnel development through mentoring and establish a personal & professional development plan for each planner,

F. Prepare reports, and perform other tasks as requested by management.

About You
Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Supply Chain or related field required. Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Production Planning or Supply Planning role within a manufacturing environment required. Experience in the Flavor, Fragrance, Food Ingredients or related industries preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience directly supervising a staff.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) are essential as well as the ability to interact with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Strong presentation skills are a must.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • ERP System experience required. SAP experience desired.
  • APICS or NAPM (ISM) certification a plus

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The expected gross hourly rate for this position is USD $90000.00 - USD $110000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
