ResponsibilitiesThe Job: The Production Planning Supervisor schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. Role will oversee at least 4 direct reports covering 3V and F300 (sheet metal) factory.
As a Production Planning Supervisor, you'll be part of our Aerospace team working as an onsite employee. You'll get to:
- Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements
- Will take ownership to coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule
- Execute MRB messages to push, pull, or release Work Orders and release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for kit picking.
- Will collaborate with appropriate teams to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met. Will create action plans to ensure goals are met and will ensure there if follow through and completion of actions
- Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages and notify Sales of any schedule impacts to customers.
- Proactively coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Follow all policies and procedures; initiate changes to existing processes to improve overall effectiveness.
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Proficient use of computer systems and software applications and in-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Will take action and bring solutions to meetings as required
- Others duties as assigned to meet department and facility goals
QualificationsRequirements and Education
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field
- Minimum of 7+ years Production Planning experience with 5+ of those years being in manufacturing.
- Experience in supervising at least 3-5 direct reports
- Enterprise Resource Planning or Material Resource Planning experience is required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated capability working with Microsoft Office suite of products; proficient in Excel formulas, look-ups and pivot tables. Query capability is a plus.
Compensation details
The base pay range for this position in California is $110,000 -135,000 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
