Production Planning Manager - Gas Turbine Manufacturing RepairPosition SummaryThe Production Planning Manager leads production planning and control for an assigned value stream in gas turbine manufacturing - converting demand into a sequenced, executable, capacity-feasible schedule and leading the planning and scheduling team that delivers it. The role owns the published schedule and its commitments, the demonstrated-capacity model, material flow to the schedule, and the master data and transaction discipline an enterprise ERP depends on - running disciplined planning with today's tools and system-based Master Planning (MRP) as the system of record after go-live. Success in this role is a value stream that delivers to schedule: adherence measured and improving, shortages escalated before impact rather than expedited around, and a team developed into system-fluent planning professionals. This position leads the GTM Repair and Overhaul value stream at our Houston depot and aero repair facility.

Position Responsibilities- Own the daily and weekly production schedule for repair and overhaul work centers - sequencing engine inductions through disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly against turnaround-time (TAT) commitments - delegating daily engine and cell-level sequencing to the production scheduler while retaining ownership of the published schedule and its commitments; run ERP-based Master Planning (MRP) as the system of record after go-live.
- Drive schedule adherence as the site's core operating metric: measure and publish on-time-to-schedule performance, level-load constraint work centers from demonstrated capacity data, protect turnaround-time commitments, and lead recovery planning when adherence breaks.
- Lead master data readiness and integrity for the repair scope: drive cleansing and validation of item masters, routings, work centers, and bill-of-material structures to migration standards; after go-live, enforce transaction timeliness and accuracy (labor, material issues, completions) so work-in-process position, priorities, and promise dates reflect reality.
- Map and maintain work-center capacity: document demonstrated capacity, setup and cycle durations, and constraint operations across the repair value stream - converting tribal knowledge into planning parameters the system can consume, and keeping them current as processes improve.
- Serve as a functional lead through the ERP implementation: execute user acceptance testing for production planning transactions, drive defect resolution, build the cutover plan for open work orders and work-in-process, and own planned-order review, exception management, and release discipline in the system thereafter.
- Run material flow to the schedule: establish staging, kitting, and shortage-escalation disciplines through the material coordinator team, replacing informal expediting with defined process.
- Partner with site continuous improvement leadership on improvement events targeting schedule attainment, expedite reduction, and shortage-driven disruption; standardize planning standard work.
- Develop the team: coach the scheduler, planners, material planners, and coordinators into system-fluent professionals, build bench depth, and establish clear role standards and performance expectations.
Required Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field - or equivalent progressive experience.
- Experience: 5+ years in production control, planning, or scheduling within high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or MRO operations, with direct people-leadership experience.
- Industry expertise: Working knowledge of gas turbine or complex mechanical assembly/disassembly flows, including condition-driven scope growth and its scheduling implications.
- Systems: Hands-on ERP experience (implementation, migration, or power-user depth), including data cleansing, user acceptance testing, or cutover; strong Excel and capacity-analysis capability.
- Execution: Demonstrated ability to run disciplined manual or spreadsheet-based scheduling in the absence of system support - and to lead a team out of that state.
- Travel Required: Willingness to travel up to 40%.

Preferred Qualifications- Industry leadership: Aviation, gas turbine, or complex rotating-equipment repair/overhaul experience.
- Systems: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Certifications: APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP).
- Methods: Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and daily management systems.
