Job Summary
The Production Manager directs day-to-day operations for the electronics manufacturing department. This role acts as a vital bridge between Management, Engineering, Purchasing, and the Production Floor to ensure high-quality products are built and delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling & Tracking: Maintain the production schedule for all open jobs using Keys to track deadlines, manage equipment utilization, and navigate facility bottlenecks.
- Floor Leadership: Assign daily tasks to production staff, ensuring team members log their time accurately into Keys. Train, supervise, and evaluate floor personnel.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, and Shipping/Receiving to ensure components are available, resolve drawing/schematic issues, and avoid delivery surprises.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict ISO 9001 and UL compliance. Drive continuous improvement and ensure thorough documentation for our low-volume, high-mix environment.
- Inventory & Budget: Track inventory levels for components and shop consumables (solder, flux, safety gear) while managing the production budget.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of production management experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing (PCBs, wire harnesses, enclosures).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Skills: Strong communication, proactive problem-solving, and experience working with manufacturing ERP scheduling systems.
