Position Description:

The Production Manager will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring quality workmanship, keeping commitments to deadlines, delivering solutions, and demonstrating a positive attention to detail in meeting customers' needs. The Production Manager must be committed to successful leadership through accountability, team building, and knowledge sharing, and they must be dedicated to meeting company financial goals and objectives. The Production Manager is responsible for supervising all manufacturing, maintenance, and production scheduling activities at the plant level, ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety and quality control programs. This position trains and develops employees, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate staffing for all scheduled production
  • Manage and report how plant operations affect P&L. As an example, OT and production
  • Manage the activities of the shop floor, following established procedures and approved
  • Guide all production operations activities in order to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, deliver on time, quality products and maximize profit.
  • Directly manage the activities of the Supervisors, responsible for their training and
  • Actively lead team with a hands-on style, willing to roll up sleeves and lead by Good Coach and Leader.
  • Support Management decisions and bridges the need to balance company interests with employee
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in methods and procedures to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery
  • Apply Company policies and assures adherence to Company
  • Screen, interview, and hire for openings in collaboration with
  • Recognize performance accomplishments and opportunities of direct reports and be comfortable in providing constructive feedback.
  • Follow the normal disciplinary process, addresses and documents performance issues with
  • Recommend and participate in termination

  • Provide input to management on capital needs to remain competitive in

Physical & Work Requirements:
  • May be required to travel at times; duration is usually no longer than a couple of

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of the tools and equipment necessary for repairing and replacing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  • Experience working independently to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve issues with process and plant equipment, and to develop and rapidly implement corrective actions.
  • Experience training teammates on plant operations, quality control procedures and the proper techniques of instrument calibration and maintenance.
