Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee all activities within the production department to ensure targets for volume, cost, and quality are met or exceeded.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor daily and weekly production schedules to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all production areas.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems (QMS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and 5S processes.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in efficiency, waste reduction, and throughput.
  • Lead and mentor supervisors, team leads, and production employees to achieve operational excellence and professional growth.
  • Review and approve daily production reports, performance data, and corrective action plans.
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to resolve production-related issues promptly.
  • Maintain focus on first-pass quality, ensuring all processes meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve process flow and reduce non-value-added activity.
  • Enforce all safety policies and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Manage headcount planning, overtime, and labor utilization to align with production demand.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for production personnel.
  • Recommend and implement process or staffing changes to support strategic business initiatives.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing process engineering.
  • 5+ years of new product development (NPD) experience in a cross-functional environment.
  • 5+ years applying Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies in a manufacturing setting.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing production teams.
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) strongly preferred.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing required; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
