Production Managers ensure all production operations are completed to appropriate standards and deadlines. They may have significant responsibilities and accountabilities for managing and administering department budgets, forecasts, policies and procedures. They are responsible for all personnel administration functions within a department(s) and are responsible for promoting an atmosphere that encourages and fosters high teamwork and strong ethics. Production Managers develop and provide leadership to team members.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and/or facilitate training and development of staff through coaching, mentoring and training. Conduct associate development, counseling and the disciplinary process. Assist with associates' diverse issues. Ensure associates comply with all policies, procedures and safety guidelines. Prepare and conduct written performance appraisals; document and counsel on performance/accountabilities.
- Maintain the capacity to support present and future production volumes including focus on new products, technologies and industry standards, as well as labor requirements.
- Manage activities, workflow and scheduling of operations staff and/or functions.
- Analyze new processes and opportunities to further streamline the operational process to make the overall operation more efficient and ensure the highest possible level of quality.
- Communicate with external customers and internal departments to ensure the meeting of schedules and the resolution of problems. Participate in client meetings and facilitate tours as required.
- Prepare, manage, and are accountable for budgets and goals for one or more departments.
- Interview candidates and make hiring recommendations/decisions. Make termination recommendations and conduct terminations as necessary.
- Participate in staff meetings; provide reports to management; research and resolve discrepancies.
- May perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: - Minimal: High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years of related experience including supervisory experience
- Optimal: Post-secondary education; experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Skills/Competencies: - Excellent PC skills. Must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel).
- Must have strong analytical skills to be able to effectively consolidate and report critical information to management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and management at multiple levels.
- Solid organizational skills. Must be able to effectively multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work effectively under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to review jobs before they are inserted and after to ensure that they meet quality standards.
- Must be a self-starter and demonstrate strong initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and promote teamwork.
- Must be flexible to work various shifts, overtime, including weekends & holidays.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding operational environment.
- Some travel (trade shows, seminars, equipment manufacturers and other Broadridge facilities) as required.
- Demonstrates an ability to speak, understand, read and write the English language.
Shift: Late Week Night - Wednesday-Friday, alternating every other Saturday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
The salary range for this position is $86,112 - $100,000 annual, plus a shift differential. Eligible for annual bonus. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
