The Production Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing a multidisciplinary engineering team that includes Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers, and Machine Programmers. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and high-quality operation of production processes through continuous improvement, engineering rigor, and robust technical support. The manager will partner closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to drive operational excellence and support strategic business objectives.
This individual will travel up to 10% of the time.
What You Will DO:Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, and machine programmers.
- Set clear goals, performance standards, and development plans for team members.
- Foster a culture of problem solving, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Manufacturing Engineering Oversight
- Own technical process standards, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Drive process optimization to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
- Implement engineering changes, support new product introduction, and lead process validation activities.
Industrial Engineering Management
- Lead time studies, labor standards development, and capacity modeling.
- Optimize plant layout, material flow, ergonomics, and workflow efficiency.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives and support waste elimination across the facility.
Machine Programming & Automation
- Oversee CNC, robotic, and automated equipment programming and optimization.
- Ensure programs meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
- Evaluate new technologies, automation opportunities, and tooling improvements.
Technical Problem Solving & Support
- Serve as technical escalation point for production issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Responsibilities
- Support capital projects, process capability improvements, and equipment upgrades.
- Collaborate with Operations on production planning, capacity analysis, and readiness.
- Track and report engineering KPIs including OEE, scrap, downtime, and productivity improvements.
Qualifications You Must Have:- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- 4+ years of manufacturing/industrial engineering experience
- 4+ years in technical leadership
- 3+ years experience with Lean or Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization
- Experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Qualifications We Prefer:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Hands-on experience with CNC programming, machining processes, or automated systems

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
