Full Job Description
Summary

SENS is seeking a self-motivated production development engineer to join our growing company. This individual will work closely with design engineering, production, safety, and quality to improve production efficiency, production line setup, troubleshoot production issues and testing issues, implement new production technologies, improve production processes and equipment, and to ensure continuous flow of manufactured product without defects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of emerging manufacturing technologies, automation, and digital solutions to modernize production systems and enable scalable growth.
  • Support new product hand-off to Production including production line setup, test equipment configuration, and manufacturing assembly/test operator training.
  • Lead production line 3P and improvement projects including conducting time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to optimize throughput and improve process sustainability.
  • Develop new and enhance or maintain existing build and test instructions to ensure products are built and tested correctly every time.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing test equipment, repair cable harnesses, reset test software, and update settings as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, test, and execute engineering changes to improve manufacturing (DFM/A), control costs, ensure quality, and resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement scalable production processes that incorporate lean methodology to meet business growth and new product introduction targets.
  • Responsible for key metrics such as installed equipment capacity, production efficiency, production uptime, production cycle time versus takt time, first pass yield, and others.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent in a technical field of study.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing engineering, production technical support, and/or new product introduction in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing automation, vision systems, smart tooling, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Experience working and communicating with test equipment such as voltmeters, data acquisition systems, o-scopes, load banks and similar instruments to make manual and automated measurements.
  • Experience with software programming and basic ability to read and step through code to determine where issues exist
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot technical systems and their associated communication interfaces.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical part drawings.
  • Understanding manufacturing principles, lean and six sigma methodologies, and process validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills for articulating technical approaches and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in power electronics, industrial electronics, battery charging systems, power conversion equipment, or related industries.
  • More advanced ability in software programming and coding.
  • Experience with interactive use of ERP systems (SyteLine) for accessing BOMs, item masters, where-used, and supplier information
  • Prior experience leading Kaizen and other manufacturing improvement projects and events with cross functional teams
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.


Location: Longmont, CO

Base Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000 is the projected annual base salary range and will be determined based on the candidate's overall qualifications and experience.

Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Equity: This position is eligible for equity in the company.
