Scope of Position

This strategic and technically skilled individual, as part of the Sustainability team, will be responsible for developing, implementing, and advancing Watts' product sustainability program across the organization. The Product Sustainability Manager will partner with Product Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, and executive leadership to establish product sustainability strategies, conduct environmental Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), and integrate sustainability principles into product development and business decision-making.

The role will lead efforts to measure and improve the environmental impact of Watts products while strengthening the sustainability value proposition of the Company's product portfolio. This position will support the development of Watts' long-term product sustainability roadmap, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and help position Watts as a sustainability leader within its markets.

This position does not have direct reports.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Marketing, Business Intelligence & Analytics and is remote based in the US.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive product sustainability program that evaluates and improves the environmental impact of Watts products.
• Lead Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) initiatives across product lines to measure environmental impacts and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop sustainability models, methodologies, metrics, and reporting frameworks to assess and track product sustainability performance.
• Manage sustainability-related data inventories and ensure the integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of sustainability reporting processes.
• Evaluate product sustainability factors, including recycled content, harmful substances, product longevity, end-of-life considerations, circular economy principles, and environmental certifications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports in accordance with applicable standards, including ISO 14040/44 and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) requirements.
• Partner with Product Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Distribution teams to incorporate sustainability considerations into product development and business processes.
• Establish and implement product sustainability goals, objectives, and performance measures across Watts product platforms.
• Assess sustainability maturity across business units and product categories and recommend improvement opportunities.
• Support the development and publication of Watts' annual sustainability report and related disclosures.
• Communicate product sustainability initiatives, accomplishments, and objectives to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor industry trends, sustainability regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices related to environmental sustainability and product stewardship.
• Support customer requests, sustainability audits, product disclosures, certifications, and other stakeholder sustainability requirements.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to strengthen the sustainability value proposition of key products and solutions.
• Provide sustainability expertise and recommendations to support strategic planning, product innovation, and business growth initiatives.
• Represent Watts in sustainability-related meetings, industry groups, conferences, and customer engagements as required.
• Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by management.

• Travel Requirements: up to 25% travel

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Product Development, Chemistry, Material Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product sustainability, sustainability engineering, environmental management, product lifecycle assessment, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of climate science, circular economy principles, regenerative design, and environmental sustainability practices.
• Experience conducting environmental and product Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and utilizing related sustainability assessment tools.
• Experience developing and implementing sustainability programs, metrics, and reporting methodologies.
• Strong project and program management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple functions and organizational levels.
• Ability to communicate sustainability concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and sustainability-related reporting tools.
• Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
• Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including [insert checks], and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting sustainable product development initiatives.
• Knowledge of ISO 14040/44, GRI, LEED, BREEAM, REACH, RoHS, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and related sustainability frameworks and standards.
• Experience supporting sustainability reporting and disclosure programs.
• Familiarity with product compliance, environmental certifications, and circular economy strategies.
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, plumbing, water technology, building products, or related industries.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to occasionally travel to and work in the office at any Watts Water location for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management.
