About the job:

We are looking for a dynamic client-facing, globally-minded professional who can work in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to provide service to our existing and prospective clients located in the Middle East & North Africa region , while working with the local and global relationship management teams. The candidate will also participate in the client’s onboarding for liquidity products in the region.

The MENA liquidity specialist position will be located initially in Madrid but can and will be relocated to the region should the business activity so require. Relocation capacity to the region is essential for the candidate.

Job Duties:

  • Managing a target list of CIB clients covered in the Middle East & North Africa region in coordination with the local CIB team.

  • Engaging in sales efforts by providing necessary product support and enhance visibility of liquidity products across the Middle East & North Africa region.

  • Planning of marketing trips to the Middle East & North Africa region market and representing the interests of the bank during client visits and meetings.

  • Prepare daily liquidity proposals and pricing to clients.

  • Preparing marketing material including product presentations.

  • Leading the process of negotiating terms and conditions directly with clients.

Requirements:

A. Academic Background & Certifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or quantitative fields.

  • Postgraduate / Certifications: Master’s degree in Finance, Investment Banking, or Global Transactional Banking preferred. Professional certifications such as CFA or CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) are highly advantageous.


B. Professional Experience:

  • Years of Experience: 8+ years of proven experience in CIB, Global Transactional Banking (GTB), or Treasury/Sales desks.

  • Product Mastery: Deep technical mastery of liquidity products, corporate/institutional deposits, cross-border cash management, and funding structures.

  • Client-Facing Track Record: Demonstrated experience dealing directly with CIB corporate and institutional clients.

  • Regional Expertise: Strong understanding of market dynamics, institutional client behaviors, and regulatory environments in the MENA region.


C. Technical Skills (Hard Skills):

  • Pricing & Structuring: High analytical capability to run daily pricing models and structure yield-bearing liquidity solutions.

  • Negotiation & Legal: Experience leading term sheet negotiations and managing documentation alongside risk and legal teams.

  • KYC & Onboarding: Practical understanding of client onboarding, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements for transaction banking.


D. Mobility & Language Requirements:

  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (C1/C2) is mandatory for executive dialogue. Spanish and Arabic are highly advantageous.

  • Geographical Mobility: Absolute willingness and readiness to relocate to the MENA region when business growth dictates (initially based in Madrid). Ability to conduct regular commercial travel across MENA.
