Job Summary

Under the direction of the Enterprise Resource Planning Manager, the Product Owner, Enterprise Resource Planning, is responsible for owning and prioritizing the product backlog for Workday and related ERP capabilities. This role translates strategic objectives and business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and delivery priorities that maximize business value, improve operational effectiveness, and support Wipfli's growth. The Product Owner serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, platform owners, and delivery teams to drive high-quality outcomes across enhancements, releases, integrations, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Own and prioritize the Workday and ERP product backlog, aligning initiatives with organizational strategy, business value, compliance requirements, and operational priorities.
  • Translate business needs into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release priorities to guide delivery teams.
  • Partner with Finance, Practice, and business leaders to identify opportunities, define requirements, and optimize end-to-end business processes.
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for backlog prioritization, scope decisions, and functional tradeoffs within established governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with platform owners, analysts, developers, testers, and delivery partners to support sprint planning, backlog refinement, releases, and solution delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Workday modules, ERP processes, integrations, reporting, user experience, and overall platform performance.
  • Evaluate Workday releases, enhancements, and configuration changes, coordinating testing, validation, stakeholder communication, and change readiness activities.
  • Ensure solutions meet legal, regulatory, risk, information security, and data protection requirements while supporting organizational compliance objectives.
  • Leverage product, process, and adoption metrics, industry trends, and ERP best practices to inform roadmap decisions, measure business impact, and support user adoption through effective documentation and training.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in product ownership, product management, business systems analysis, or a closely related role
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise resource planning platforms and business process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Financials and PSA, including configuration concepts, business processes, integrations, reporting, and release management
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments with responsibility for backlog management, story refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria
  • Ability to translate strategic objectives and stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and delivery priorities

Preferred qualifications:
  • Background in professional services, accounting, financial services, or other matrixed business environments
  • Workday PRO Certifications
  • Experience coordinating with distributed, offshore, or third-party delivery teams
  • Formal Agile certification such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $107,000 to $144,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
