Position Summary:

The Product Manager develops and executes strategic plans for assigned product lines ranging from $1M to $250M of net sales. This role collaborates across the organization to actively manage Swagelok's product portfolio, performance, price and promotional activities. This role monitors technology trends and supports product road mapping to create and maintain a leading market position . Product managers are viewed as key influencers within the organization with strong business acumen and communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops product vision statements that incorporate customer, market, and competitive perspectives, and business strategy for assigned product lines.
  • Leads development of product segmentation and product family roadmaps
  • Leads cross functional development of product strategy to achieve overall growth and profitability objectives for assigned product lines
  • Establishes and aligns growth, profitability, and other KPI's for assigned product lines and leads development of annual plans to achieve goals for assigned product lines
  • Leads cross functional management team to identify, prioritize, and/or escalate large sales or profitability improvement opportunities
  • Uses analytics and market intelligence to inform key decisions including, new product assessment, SKU rationalization, price adjustments, availability changes, and other actions
  • Establishes product line pricing strategy, develops pricing models that reflect market value, and directs price change process
  • Manages and executes product and marketing assessments
  • Manages the collection of competitive product line and technology trend intelligence within target market segments and applications.
  • Manages and executes processes to capture and report on customer, channel, and business insights
  • Leads customer insight team for new product development efforts and oversees voice of customer, blueprinting process
  • Develop and execute training for sales and service center associates on product and service capabilities
  • Product line subject matter expert for sales support and communications activities

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Education: BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or Technical Field. MBA recommended.

Experience:
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience with increasing responsibility in B2B marketing and product management is required.
  • Familiarity with industrial product markets and distribution sales model is preferred


Skills:
  • Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources to develop cohesive strategies and exercise sound business judgement
  • Excellent communications skills; can articulate strategies in a compelling manner
  • Ability to lead effectively within a matrix organization by building rapport, trust, and influence of a wide variety of audiences, including distributors, customers, internal departments, and senior management
