Product Manager - Service Engineering

About the Role

PTC is seeking a technically strong and market-focused Distinguished Product Manager to lead strategic investments across the Windchill Service Engineering and Arbortext portfolio.

This role will define and drive the next generation of PTC's Service Engineering and Technical Publications solution through the entire Intelligent Product Lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines deep domain expertise in Service Engineering and Technical Publications with strong technical acumen, customer focus, and a passion for applying AI technologies to solve real-world business challenges.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for PTC's Service Information and Arbortext solutions, enabling a connected digital thread across the product lifecycle to meet the needs of Service Engineering, Technical Publications, Service Execution, and Content Delivery
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, analysts, and field teams to understand business challenges and market opportunities and translate those into effectively roadmap and release plans.
  • Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, and prioritized product backlogs.
  • Engage with R&D teams on technical discussions and provide needed guidance on implementation approaches and backlog execution through product releases activity.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation.
  • Partner closely with R&D and UX teams to design and deliver innovative and AI powered value driven solutions.
  • Drive Agile planning, backlog management, prioritization, and story acceptance.
  • Support Product launches, Sales enablement, and Go-to-Market activities.
  • Collaborate across Product Management, R&D, Sales, Support and Partners.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

Required
  • Strong foundation in modern Product Management practices with focus on inbound skills and ability to translate customer needs into successful enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog management, and user story development.
  • Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Engineering, Service Engineering, Service Lifecycle Management (SLM), Technical Publications.
  • Proven implementation experience in service content workflows of enterprise software applications - structured content, publishing, content delivery etc.
  • Relevant Knowledge of common industry technical documentation standards - DITA 2.0 a must, DITA-OTK, Industry 4.0, S1000D, iiRDS, and eIFUs.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), REST APIs, microservices, and modern SaaS architectures.
  • Familiarity with enterprise search, metadata, taxonomy, and information architecture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

AI & Innovation Focus
  • Strong passion for AI and emerging technologies.
  • Understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG architecture, semantic search, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI assistants.
  • Experience identifying and delivering AI-powered customer solutions.
  • Ability to translate AI innovations into product strategy and measurable business value.
  • Knowledge of AI applications for content creation, translation, knowledge management, and service operations.


Preferred Experience
  • Windchill, Arbortext, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Industrial Equipment, or Medical Device industries
  • Service organizations, aftermarket operations, or technical publications teams.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical Communication, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Engineering, Solution Architecture, or related disciplines.
  • Proven success delivering enterprise software products from concept through market adoption.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both highly technical teams and executive stakeholders.

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $112,000 - $126,500. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs. Employees may be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and employer match, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage and, if you are an office-assigned employee, a generous commuter subsidy.
