Full Job Description
Our Team

The Privacy & Data Protection Engineering (PDPE) organization at Netflix ensures responsible data use across the company and provides the guidance and tooling to help teams move fast with data, safely and sustainably. PDPE is a cross-functional organization comprising Privacy Engineering, Data Protection, and Privacy Infrastructure Engineering, and is part of the broader Security, Privacy, and Assurance (SPA) organization. We build the products, policies, and infrastructure that let Netflix's businesses grow confidently, giving teams clear visibility into their data assets, scalable controls across the data lifecycle, and the frameworks to make good data decisions quickly.

Role

We are seeking a strategic, technically fluent Product Manager to drive our privacy and data protection product investments. In this role, you will partner closely with privacy engineers, data engineers, infrastructure engineers, security engineers, legal, and business stakeholders to define and ship products that unlock Netflix's ability to use data responsibly and at scale, spanning consent and preference management, data governance tooling, privacy-enhancing technologies, and safe data access frameworks. You will own the product roadmap for a portfolio of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives and serve as the connective tissue between our technical teams and Netflix's fast-moving businesses. We need someone who is driven, autonomous, and energized by the challenge of building products that make safe data use the path of least resistance for every team at Netflix.

  • Build and own a strategic roadmap for various privacy and data protection domains, from ideation and requirements through execution, delivery, measurement, and iteration.

  • Drive adoption, development, and execution of cross-org privacy solutions through strong partnerships and the ability to influence cross-functional teams toward optimal paved path solutions that balance privacy, business velocity, and trust.

  • Translate privacy principles and business requirements from Privacy Engineering, Data Protection, and Privacy Infrastructure Engineering teams in PDPE into clear, actionable product requirements.

  • Own the product vision for data governance tooling, including privacy rights management, retention, and data protection controls, making it easy for engineering and data teams to do the right thing by default.

  • Enable privacy safe data practices by identifying opportunities where governance unlocks business value

  • Build business cases and measure impact: define KPIs and reporting mechanisms that demonstrate both risk reduction and the tangible business value of privacy product investments.

  • Communicate clearly across audiences, from technical engineering partners to senior leadership, through high-quality memos, narratives, and presentations.

  • Embody the unique Netflix culture.

Desired Background & Skills
  • Product management experience building products that solve problems related to privacy engineering and data governance challenges, strongly preferred.

  • Ability to connect privacy and data protection investments to business outcomes; you understand how safe data use creates competitive advantage, not just reduces risk.

  • Experience driving highly technical, multi-team execution across engineering functions while coordinating effectively with stakeholders across engineering, legal, and business

  • Strong understanding of global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, VPPA, etc.) and translating into product decisions

  • Familiarity with data lifecycle management, consent management, privacy rights, and basic security principles.

  • Principles-first mindset deeply rooted in problem definitions, with a bias for action.

  • Track record of shipping 0-1 products that enabled meaningful business outcomes while improving data trust, privacy posture, or member experience.

  • Organizational leadership and influence without relying on hierarchy, with the ability to lead through persuasion, partnership, and expertise.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills: great memos and presentations to technical and non-technical partners are extremely important.

  • Comfort with making tough prioritization decisions and navigating evolving business priorities and data landscapes.
