The Audience Activation Platform is CDP's newest offering for mission-driven organizations, aiming to build a more perfect view of the entire donor. We gather insights everywhere, from real-world and virtual events to socials, volunteer, donation, and other activities. With this comprehensive, connected, and real-time data, organizations can glean novel insights about what truly drives donor behavior, and tailor activities accordingly.

The Product Manager is an integral part of the AAP team, bridging the gap between strategy and execution by managing the day-to-day planning and tactical execution and delivery of AAP features. This position will play a critical role in bringing high-quality, technically feasible, and meaningful product and services to end users. By ensuring clarity, viability, and smooth delivery, this role will create scalable outcomes that drive impact across the AAP.

Translating requirements and operationalizing work are a primary responsibility for this entrepreneurial leader who exhibits a fine balance between solo action and team collaboration.

Responsibilities:

Translate Requirements: Convert high-level product requirements and client needs into clear, actionable technical specifications or work plans.
  • Partner with product teams to ensure product requirements and client needs are understood and documented.
  • Generate AI-powered prototypes and mock-ups to review with clients. Collect client feedback and ideate to find the best outcomes.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog: partnering with technology leads to break down high-level epics and features into user stories and ensuring all work is estimated by the team.
  • Define robust acceptance criteria that keeps the user at the forefront; partner with Product & Technology leadership to articulate definition of done.
  • Understand order of operations to build a feature and organize sprint work accordingly.
  • Track velocity and progress to report on product KPI's and team success metrics.

Assess Feasibility: Evaluate system architecture, API integrations, and database scalability to ensure the AAP can handle growth and perform reliably. Advise on systems and implementation plans to bring new features and service offerings to market.
  • Partner directly with engineering and product teams on systems design and architecture decisions, understanding trade-offs and representing the short- and long-term vision of the AAP in the decision-making process.
  • Assess and make recommendations to product and technology leadership on which technology best meets the business requirements.
  • Triage bugs and client issues, prioritize fixes, and communicate resolutions. Support demos, documentation, and training on the platform in partnership with Product Operations.

Partner with Teams: Work daily with cross-department teams to remove blockers, answer technical questions, and manage risk. Lead the day-to-day management of tasks across teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our technology partners; ensure alignment on specs, data requirements and timelines. Flag misalignments early enough to resolve them.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment so that teams have a shared understanding of priorities, risks, and dependencies.
  • Identify and communicate risks early, propose mitigation plans, and support decision-making with clear, concise insights. Communicate updates, tradeoffs, and risks to stakeholders in plain, direct language.
  • Help establish and evolve product processes, tooling and documentation standards as the company scales.
  • Contribute in shaping the overall growth and development of a product-led growth mindset for the organization.

Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of product management experience with direct, ongoing collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing the day-to-day execution of cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience with AI-powered prototypes and mockup creation.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully creating and maintaining product backlogs, planning sprints, and executing work in an Agile environment.
  • Demonstrated success bringing 0 to 1 products and 1 to N products to market.
  • A track record of shipping complex, technically demanding products from ambiguous requirements to launch, guided by sound product judgement.
