Responsibilities

  • Develop processes and controls for effective scrap elimination on assigned parts.
  • Write and update Engineering instructions regularly.
  • Manage product release schedules while adhering to budgets for development and part costs.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Continuously improve processes to enhance budgeted yields.
  • Conduct dimensional probability studies to assess product characteristics.
  • Complete and submit product qualifications as required.
  • Create specific procedures for parts and processes.
  • Apply statistical techniques for yield and dimensional analysis.
  • Coordinate tooling designs and production instructions with internal and external teams.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop processes, define controls, and institute effective scrap elimination efforts on assigned parts.
  • Write, issue, and continually update Engineering instructions.
  • Manage activities to stay on schedule for product release, while maintaining budgeted development and part costs.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
  • Continuously evaluate/improve processes that maintain or improve upon budgeted yields.
  • Conduct dimensional probability studies.
  • Initiate, complete, and submit product qualifications.
  • Develop and implement part specific procedures.
  • Use statistical and graphical analysis techniques to disposition yield and dimensional elements of the casting process.
  • Develop conceptual designs of required tooling and coordinate detailed design and build instructions with in house and outside tool rooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials or other related Engineering discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in the airfoils investment casting industry a plus
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability
  • Working knowledge of process control methods
  • Demonstrated ability to develop & execute action plans that will deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Proficiency in a major, industry standard 3D CAD software package
  • Working knowledge of Zero-Defect Program: PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Control
  • Six Sigma Certification a plus
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident (green card holder)
