- Analyze drilling tool performance and support data-driven product decisions.
- Contribute to the invention, design, analysis, prototyping, shop testing, and field testing of new products and enhancements to existing tools.
- Create prototype drawings and revise existing designs using SolidWorks.
- Investigate field failures, document findings, and recommend product improvements.
- Support manufacturing process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors to align on technical needs and project priorities.
- Help maintain and develop QA/QC procedures and technical documentation.
- Work primarily in an office environment, with approximately 10-20% travel, including international travel when needed.
- Travel to drilling rigs for 5-15 days at a time 1-3 times per year for training, troubleshooting, or new product introductions.
- Operate test equipment safely and comfortably, including pumps, hydraulic cylinders, and standard shop tools.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed in support of testing and shop activities.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong oral, written, and technical communication skills.
- Knowledge of mechanics of materials and sound engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency with standard software and general computer applications (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, AI prompt experience a plus).
- Experience with 3D drafting and GD&T, ideally using SolidWorks.
- Strong math aptitude, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on mindset, customer focus, creativity, professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering-Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or a related discipline-with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
