Product Engineer - Zeeland, MI

DISHER is partnering with a global leader in high-quality door and insulated glass solutions, to find a Product Engineer to join their team in Zeeland, MI. In this role, you'll be responsible for the design, development, and validation of new products that meet customer needs and aligns with innovation goals and cost targets. What will make you successful:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 3-5+ years in new product development; residential door, window, glass, IG, and/or building materials background STRONGLY preferred.
  • SolidWorks/CAD proficiency (able to execute drawings when needed, not just direct); DFMEA, DVP&R, FEA, cost estimating; stage-gate process experience; basic Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to take a concept from idea through prototyping, testing, and production launch; broad engineering principles with hands-on problem solving skills and curiosity
  • Effective communication and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks independently.
  • Familiarity with injection molding, extrusion, and plastics; familiarity with wood, metal, and general residential fenestration materials; basic understanding of electrical systems a plus
  • Cross functional teamwork with design, program management, finance, and manufacturing; able to delegate, hold others accountable, and communicate technical direction clearly.
  • Develop and run test plans for novel concepts; manage priorities and multiple tasks independently with strong time management.
  • Oracle or ERP system experience.
