Role Overview
The Product Design Engineer - Auxiliary Systems plays a pivotal role in shaping next generation solutions for aftermarket gas turbine systems. This position goes beyond
routine design to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that meet business objectives
and system requirements. In this role, you will lead feasibility studies, execute new
product development design activities, and ensure verification and validation to enable
deployment across our fleet of turbine frames. Working closely with cross-functional
teams, you'll transform ideas into high-quality, innovative products that meet demanding
objectives and system requirements, powering performance and reliability for customers
worldwide. Projects relate to designing systems to improve gas turbine performance,
development of advanced technologies to enhance reliability, and deploying
enhancements to reduce component failures. Auxiliary systems in scope of this role
include, but are not limited to, fuel gas, fuel oil, lube oil, air and flue gas systems.
The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic
oversight to ensure efficiencies
Key Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, requirements definition, design execution, and validation
activities across the product lifecycle for auxiliary systems.
• Develop and validate new auxiliary system products aligned with defined
technical, operational, and quality requirements.
• Plan, execute, and report on test, analysis, and verification activities for gas
turbine auxiliary systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to manage product requirements, traceability, and
compliance using PTC Codebeamer and Design & Development processes.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation for product implementation and
turnover, including P&IDs, specifications, layouts, and piping documentation.
• Support ISO 9001 compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and product
performance enhancements across the fleet.
Requirements
• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or technical diploma
from college or university and 8 Years extensive direct experience in auxiliary
system design (building process piping, skids or control valves) for industrial
machinery, power plants, or gas turbines is required. Experience with system level design, requirements management, and product validation for industrial
equipment. Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.12 and B31.3 piping codes and
applicable industry standards desired.
• Strong analytical skills related to engineering problem solving. Able to define
problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram
form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail, and
Math Lab required.
• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
• Minimal travel May be required - some overnight travel (expected 5 to 15%) by
land and/or air.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and
must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
