Full Job Description
Formica Corporation is seeking a Procurement Director, North America to lead commercial strategy and supplier management across approximately $130 million in direct and indirect spend. This role owns sourcing, supplier selection, commercial terms, contracts, third-party purchasing, performance, and supply-risk mitigation while partnering with Operations, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Legal.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute procurement and category strategies for North American direct and indirect spend.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the North American procurement team, including goal setting, workload prioritization, performance management, talent development, and day-to-day team leadership.
  • Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, service levels, obligations, renewals, and commercial protections.
  • Deliver measurable savings and value through strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, cost modeling, and supplier optimization.
  • Own supplier identification, qualification, selection, onboarding, and governance within approved technical, quality, and supply requirements.
  • Lead purchasing from third-party suppliers, including commercial terms, pricing accuracy, purchase-order governance, and issue escalation.
  • Build procurement organizational capability by setting team priorities, strengthening sourcing discipline, developing talent, and driving accountability for savings, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder support.
  • Manage supplier performance through scorecards, reviews, corrective actions, and escalation across cost, quality, delivery, and continuity.
  • Strengthen critical-material resilience through qualified alternate sources and documented risk-mitigation plans.
  • Lead commercial resolution of raw-material claims, including recovery, replacement supply, and supplier corrective action.
  • Provide market intelligence, commodity cost models, PPV analysis, and inflation and savings forecasts.
  • Partner with manufacturing and functional teams on supplier innovation, product launches, trials, and indirect categories.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Realized savings and purchase-price variance versus approved baseline.
  • Percentage of critical materials with a qualified, contract-ready alternate source.
  • Incoming material defect PPM and repeat-issue rate.
  • Inbound supplier OTIF and outbound OTIF affected by material availability.
  • Contract compliance, supplier corrective-action closure, and claim recovery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, finance, or a related field; MBA or professional certification is preferred.
  • Progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, or operations experience, including complex negotiations and supplier leadership.
  • Demonstrated results in savings delivery, contract management, supplier performance, and supply-risk mitigation.
  • Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, leadership, and cross-functional influencing skills.
  • Manufacturing and raw-material category experience is strongly preferred.
