In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with an experienced crew, operate and monitor critical equipment, and make real-time adjustments to support safe, environmentally responsible, and reliable production. Minimum Requirements:
  • Two years of refinery experience
  • 4th Class Power Engineering certificate, 3rd or 2nd is preferred
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Attach your Power Engineering operating tickets with your application


Responsibilities:
  • Learn and adhere to the refinery's management systems
  • Work on a crew covering a qualified post within an operating unit
  • Operate the refinery equipment in a safe, efficient manner according to established practices, procedures and operating guidelines
  • Perform preventative maintenance and trouble-shooting to maintain process equipment
  • Monitor the operation and equipment for deviations
  • Review and adjust equipment and process variables to maintain a safe and environmentally sound operation and to ensure product quality


Location and other Key details:
  • You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurray within the Primary Upgrader
  • The shift schedule is 3 days 3 nights and 6 off - 12-hour shifts
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
