Position Overview

Reporting to the Superintendent - Fixed Asset & Processing, the Process Plant Operations Team Leader is responsible for managing a team of Process Plant Technicians. They are tasked with safely leading daily plant operations while supporting production targets, continuous improvement initiatives, and team development. This role bridges operational execution and frontline leadership by ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective processing performance while fostering a strong safety culture and collaborative team environment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Champion and actively promote all Health, Safety, Environment, and Community programs, ensuring safety remains the top priority in all plant activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and site-specific requirements, including applicable Mine Health & Safety legislation.
  • Lead by example in safe work practices, reporting hazards and incidents, maintaining high housekeeping standards, and encouraging team participation in safety programs.
  • Take a leading role during troubleshooting and breakdown situations to restore safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure plant operations remain within safe operating parameters while maximizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, trust, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Support the development of team members through training, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain effective communication with cross-functional departments to support operational success.

Education/Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma, GED equivalent, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in processing roles, preferably in diamond processing.
  • Experience in a supervisory role will be considered an asset.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to gain buy-in from within teams and from other departments are essential to the success of this role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous learning, with a willingness to support the development of others.
