Full Job Description
National Grid is hiring a Process Manager (Process and Performance Improvement), Continuous Improvement. This hybrid role can sit in either our Waltham, MA; Melville, NY; Syracuse, NY location.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and advancing process improvement efforts across our end-to-end compliance programs and transformational initiatives. This position contributes directly to the execution of our Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance Strategy by identifying opportunities, supporting project delivery, and helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead Process Improvement Initiatives
    Implement cross-functional improvements across end-to-end compliance processes using process improvement tools and methods.
  • Data Analysis & Insight Generation
    Collect and analyze operational and compliance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare reports and visualizations to support decision-making.
  • Project Coordination
    Plan, track, and report on project milestones and deliverables using standard project management tools such as charters, risk registers, and communication plans.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and stakeholders. Support communication efforts to ensure alignment and awareness of process changes.
  • Continuous Learning & Development
    Learn and apply continuous improvement techniques. Participate in training and coaching sessions to build capability.
  • Support Change Management
    Assist in assessing the impact of process changes and support the development of communication and training materials to facilitate adoption.
  • Promote a Culture of Excellence
    Contribute to a team environment that values innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement in support of the Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance Strategy.


Qualifications

  • College degree, preferably in an analytical discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in process improvement, compliance, operations, or a related area (internships or co-op experience welcome).
  • Foundational understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and interest in applying them to real-world challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and influence without authority to drive outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly to various audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Passion for improving processes, enhancing compliance, and delivering value to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn-acts as a catalyst for change and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and techniques is a plus.

Salary

Downstate NY $90,000 - $105,000 a year

Upstate NY $74,000 - $87,000 a year

New England MA $84,000 - $98,000 a year
