Full Job Description
Summary: Support the Engineering Department and Manufacturing Department in process engineering activities and projects. Work to improve processes, controls, and efficiencies. Support Uniform Color (UC) philosophy focused on facilitating the growth of the organization, continually improving quality, and driving to a world class safety environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop programs and methods to optimize productivity, increase efficiencies and reduce cycle time, manufacturing losses, and overall costs.
  • Monitor and measure manufacturing losses and develop new techniques to reduce losses and improve quality.
  • Recommend and implement changes to product or process which would improve cost, delivery, and quality for the customer.
  • Uses data analysis and metrics to design and implement solutions.
  • Coordinate efforts with Product Development Engineers to improve processing of difficult to run formulations.
  • Assure product adheres to the company standards and leads problem solving teams to implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Expand abilities of the equipment & processes.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of technical developments within the industry and assists with the design of manufacturing systems.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of processes by increasing throughput, reducing internal reject and reducing scarp rates.
  • Interact with equipment vendors when improving the production equipment.
  • Support daily manufacturing operations as needed.
  • Support maintenance activities and equipment modifications.
  • Apply problem solving methodology to find root causes and equipment failure and implement changes to eliminate repetitive failures.
  • Travel to other Uniform Color and Audia facilities as required to support operational needs.
  • Follow UC Quality System-approved work instructions and procedures and help improve these as needed.
  • Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.


Preferred Experience, Training, and Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a batch processing environment
  • Plastics processing knowledge
  • Material transfer and blending
  • Project management
  • Statistical problem solving
  • Can present and gain support for ideas and changes


Physical Requirements: Ability towork in manufacturing environment.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
