Responsibilities
About the Role
The Process Engineer works with Engineering, Production and Maintenance to investigate, develop and implement improved manufacturing methods and processes. This role supports product and process development, tooling and fixture design, operator training, equipment performance and continuous improvement across the Auburn manufacturing operation.
What You'll Do
- Work with customers, vendors and Production to develop and maintain robust manufacturing processes.
- Lead product and process development and participate in the development and testing of new products.
- Review changes to drawings and specifications and translate requirements into clear manufacturing work instructions.
- Design, document and implement new tools, fixtures and other production and assembly aids.
- Train operators on new and existing processes and equipment and provide technical assistance across departments.
- Facilitate team-based problem solving and gather data to support continuous improvement and variation reduction.
- Monitor equipment OEE and identify improvements that increase uptime and manufacturing performance.
- Support quality, safety, productivity and performance improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and reprioritize work to meet changing production and customer needs.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Ceramics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, or five or more years of technical experience working with ceramic materials.
- Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience in metallization, materials science and/or assembly.
- Experience using SolidWorks and knowledge of project-management processes and techniques.
- Knowledge and application of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and familiarity with metrology and inspection instruments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work under changing priorities and deadlines.
- Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge is desired.
- Project Management certification, MasterCAM programming, machining practices and ceramics machining experience are desirable.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week; overtime and holidays as business needs require

Pay Range: $90,000-$100,000 annually, depending on experience
