Job Description

The Process Engineer will design, modify, and oversee processes to guarantee maximum output with minimum defects in the production line. You will analyze every detail and step of the production process to cut costs, increase productivity and optimize the production line. This position would be assigned to work on the production floor to identify and improve throughput on the assembly lines, corrugated and woodshop. This position will support the Nashville site as well.

Major responsibilities for this position will focus on:
  • Assess current equipment and processes and make recommendations for changes.
  • Act as a change agent; champion continuous improvement efforts in a manner that achieves buy-in from employees and facilitates effective and lasting change to improve plant safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Use continuous improvement tools, including Lean thinking, to lead and implement process improvements that will reduce cycle time, process variation, defects, changeover time, lead time, etc.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes.
  • Act as a liaison between design engineering and production; provide technical and support assistance to members of departments.
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Will perform administrative duties including but not limited to creation and management of purchase acquisition requests (PAR).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial / Systems Engineering / Operations Research or related field.
  • 5+ years of process/design work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with varied manufacturing processes such as extrusion, printing, laminating, and converting.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and tools, their use and interpretation
  • Requires ability to manage a project and process involving multiple manufacturing areas.
  • Has demonstrated ability to work independently and focus on critical project parameters that determine success of failure.


SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Comply with all established facility safety rules and policies.
  • Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately.
  • Works around rotating equipment, hot polymers, and high noise environments.
  • Required to wear safety shoes as well as standard PPE.
  • Exposed to various chemicals throughout the site.
