Short Intro and About the Job

The Process Engineer is responsible for the equipment improvement, standardization, technical training, and problem solving. The role of the Process Engineer is to eliminate process losses on equipment or areas and drive standards and problem solving.

The Process Engineer to support our Flow (Warehouse) Department based in West Jordan, Utah!

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

  • Identifying, prioritizing, and eliminating process losses (lead discussion on losses and Top 3 Plan for the month in weekly DDS)
  • Providing feedback to design (materials & product initiatives) and lead smart standardization deployment
  • Defining the equipment standards
  • Directing and coaching the change management & validation processes
  • Leading, building and coaching the capability of process failures technical troubleshooting
  • Leading and coaching process benchmarking & reapplication
  • Collaborating with Line Leader and line team (frontline workers) to develop new standards
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining systems to collect and analyze data for critical product and process parameters to identify process losses
  • Collaborating with line management to prioritize improvement opportunities
  • Eliminating or reducing (prioritized) losses through process or work system changes
  • Participating in the daily direction-setting process - report results, flag issues and request resources
  • Owning critical Daily Management Systems (DMS)
  • Using Reliability Engineering tools to drive centerlining and loss elimination
  • Standardizing equipment and work processes
  • Owning the Change Management (CM) system for a designated process
  • Update process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occur
  • Sharing and reapply learning across processes, modules, and plants
  • Preparing and give training on process/equipment changes
  • Developing self through participating in corporate and external training
  • Participating in planned stops and changeovers on the line as needed
  • Spending 60-80% of time on the floor
  • Becoming a technical expert for a designated process
  • Training and becoming proficient on all basic line team roles
  • Coaching and collaborating with the line teams and site and regional equipment or process owners
  • Delivering on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team efforts
  • Ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations (WISE) to ensure a safe working environment


Physical Demands
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; taste and/or smell, talk and hear.
  • Ability to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head.
  • The employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10lbs up to 50lbs and occasional team lifting above 50lbs. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results.
  • The employee is frequently standing on a concrete surface for 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts
  • Occasionally may need to climb on stairs, step ladders, stool.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.

Education & Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required (mechanical or industrial engineering degree preferred)
  • 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing with demonstrated technical aptitude and leadership capability
  • Six Sigma experience preferred
