Full Job Description
Process Engineer who is eager to contribute to our clients' success while pursuing new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This position may be based out of one of Foth's 33 office locations or worked remotely.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of process mechanical designs and deliverables from concept through construction


  • Perform engineering calculations, system evaluations, equipment sizing, and technical analyses to support process mechanical designs


  • Develop process engineering deliverables, including equipment specifications, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment lists, line lists, points of connection (POC) lists, operational specifications, and installation scope documents


  • Collaborate with designers to translate engineering concepts and design intent into coordinated drawings


  • Coordinate with other project disciplines, clients, vendors, and suppliers to develop integrated engineering solutions and project deliverables


  • Prepare and present technical reviews to clients regarding project-related items and design decisions


  • Estimate process engineering hours, schedules, and deliverables for proposals and project planning


  • Provide technical leadership to process mechanical project team members through QA/QC reviews, oversight of engineering deliverables, and coaching and mentorship


  • Support construction, commissioning, checkout, and startup activities through onsite and remote engagement


  • Lead process mechanical discipline execution and coordinate project team members to meet quality, schedule, and client expectations


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience


  • 10+ years of process engineering experience in industrial manufacturing, consulting, or EPC environments


  • Experience developing process engineering deliverables from concept through construction


  • Experience specifying and implementing industrial process equipment and piping systems


  • Ability to travel as needed, with anticipated travel averaging up to 25% annually


Required Previous Experience:

  • Development of engineered packages, including scopes of work, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and mechanical equipment arrangements


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure


  • Prior experience in a consulting engineering or EPC environment


  • Hands-on experience using 3D tools such as Navisworks, Plant 3D, virtual reality (VR), and 3D scanning technologies


  • Experience supporting projects in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-regulated environments


  • Knowledge of sanitary design standards and practices


  • Experience developing or implementing Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems
