Job DescriptionIn this position...The Gauge & Process Capability Engineer provides dedicated ownership for plant gauge and CMM connectivity, measurement-data integrity, process-capability analytics, operator qualification, gauge serialization, and sustainable capability governance. This role converts fragmented manual activity into reliable leading indicators that improve FTT/RTY, PPMs, pulls, warranty performance, containment, and problem-solving response , while preserving critical measurement skills across the plant.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do...- Assess gauge benches, PCs, CMMs, network connectivity, and facility constraints across plants; maintain a prioritized correction and upgrade plan
- Own reconciliation and data cleanup across QDAS, SCAFF, and DCP, including critical-characteristic classification, control limits, and measurement-system alignment
- Establish reliable collection and capability monitoring for SCs, CCs, OCs, and other characteristics, reducing dependence on manual Minitab analysis
- Standardize annotation, out-of-tolerance reaction, material quarantine, and escalation processes; train and qualify operators and supervisors
- Create and deploy standards for gauge-bench and gauge serialization, connectivity status, lifecycle management, and new-gauge compliance
- Implement Quality Compass reviews, Basic R&Rs, dashboards, push notifications, audit cadence, and standard TDM use to drive proactive problem solving
- Build gauge, layout, and CMM programming capability through competency standards, cross-training, and qualification plans for G&L, machining, and test-stand teams
- Partner with plant quality, manufacturing, IT, tooling, engineering, and leadership teams to remove infrastructure barriers and sustain process adherence
- Lead process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with procedures; create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes
- Support ISO 14001 compliance, internal ISO auditing, and adherence to Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standards
QualificationsYou'll have... - High School Diploma or GED
- 1 or more years' experience working in a manufacturing environment (internship and coop experience will be considered)

- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- 8D and 5-Why corrective action and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of Lean Tools, 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
- Familiarity with DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) project methodology
- Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen methods
- FMEA, PPAP, and DOE experience
- Demonstrated experience with Visual Factory Management
- Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
- 3 or more years' experience working in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated exposure to measurement systems, gauges, layouts, CMMs, SPC, and process-capability analysis (internship/co-op experience considered)
- Working knowledge of QDAS or comparable quality-data systems, control plans, critical characteristics, control limits, and capability metrics
- Experience diagnosing data-quality, connectivity, network, or system-integration issues in a plant environment
- Ability to interpret trend charts, out-of-tolerance conditions, Basic R&R results, and capability data, and translate findings into corrective action
- Experience developing standard work, training, qualification plans, audits, and cross-functional corrective-action plans
- Strong communication and project-management skills, with the ability to coordinate priorities across multiple plants and functions

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440.
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
