Overview

The Process Engineer is fundamental to Champion Discs. The primary role of the Process Engineer is to engage with the development and refinement of processes and custom machinery to support the production of golf discs. Secondary duties may include design, fabrication, and testing of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. The Process Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager for all projects. Working for Champion Discs, Inc will enrich the Process Engineer's experience in a small business environment where multiple disciplines are covered by a single position.

Responsibilities:
  • Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods
  • Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials
  • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services
  • Maintains system and product database by writing computer programs and entering data
  • Completes projects by training and guiding technicians

Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of fundamental engineering principles
  • Experience using 3D CAD/CAM software, Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred
  • Experience with hand tools is a must
  • Experience with 3D Printing, rapid prototyping, machining, and G-code is a plus
  • Creative problem solver, capable of brainstorming, sketching, and communicating multiple solutions to a design problem
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping electronics such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc. is a plus
  • Be self-managed and committed to working in an evolving environment

Requirements
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours/weeks)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work while wearing closed-toe shoes
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, which can include but is not limited to extreme heat and cold temperatures
  • Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust or other airborne pathogens
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly as needed, with or without assistance
