Job Summary

The Private Events Manager is responsible for finding and booking venues, liaising with clients and suppliers, handling logistics, managing budgets and invoicing, organizing accreditation, managing risk, and presenting post-event feedback.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsible for selling all private functions, including meetings with clients to determine needs, meeting those needs, and exceeding their expectations through detailed communication.
  • Brainstorm event plans and concepts and conduct short and long-term planning for events.
  • Handle logistics of client events and hotel functions, including obtaining the proper permits.
  • Communicate with F&B and Rooms management to ensure proper labor forecasting to staff accordingly for events.
  • Be present at all functions to ensure all catering services offered are up to prescribed standards.
  • Meet with the Chef and Director of F&B prior to function time to verify arrangements and to observe the quality of the food presentation and ensuring standards are met.
  • Work with the Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage to establish profitable, flexible, and competitive private event menus.
  • Work cohesively with IRD & Events Manager and Events Captain to establish guidelines so employees understand expectations and parameters; attend pre-event meetings.
  • Follow up with clients after each event to receive feedback and communicate post-event information to departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises the Events operations and staff in the absence of the IRD & Events Manager; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

Requirements

Essential Skills, Experience, and Education include:
  • Associate's degree (A.A.); or 2 - 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Luxury hotel and/or luxury residence experience required.
  • Server and/or Bartending experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Outlook- required.
  • Canary- preferred.
  • Delphi- preferred.
  • Proficient in English- verbal and written.
  • Must have flexible work availability- all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements include:
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


Salary Description

$75,000 - $90,000
