Your Purpose
The Technical Manager Islands Operations provides strategic technical leadership and oversight for all engineering operations at Ocean Cay Msc Marine Reserve and Sandy Cay. The role ensures support to the Site Chief Engineer that effectively manages daily engineering operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, compliance, asset performance, and operational efficiency.
The Technical Manager oversees major engineering projects, capital investments, preventive maintenance strategies, technical budgets, contractor management, and engineering performance. The position supports the Site Chief Engineer by providing technical direction, mentoring, and governance while ensuring compliance with MSC corporate standards and international regulations
Your Impact
- Provide strategic technical leadership and oversight of all engineering operations on Ocean Cay.
- Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the Site Chief Engineer.
- Review and approve maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance programs, and asset management plans.
- Oversee the operation and reliability of power generation, water production, wastewater treatment, HVAC, electrical distribution, IT infrastructure, marine assets, buildings, and support facilities.
- Approve engineering budgets, CAPEX projects, procurement plans, and major technical expenditures.
- Lead major engineering projects from planning through commissioning.
- Ensure engineering systems comply with MSC standards, Bahamian regulations, and international codes.
- Review engineering reports, maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability, and operational performance.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures and implement reliability improvement initiatives.
- Develop long-term asset replacement and lifecycle management strategies.
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Support emergency response and provide technical leadership during critical operational events.
- Develop succession plans and oversee technical training for engineering management and supervisory staff.
Your Journey so far
- Experience managing power generation, water production, wastewater treatment, HVAC, electrical distribution, IT infrastructure, and marine assets.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, delegate and control the work process, and to communicate effectively with senior management, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Your Essentials
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior engineering leadership or management position
- Fluent in spoken and written English, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of an additional language is an advantage.
- Strong technical report writing and presentation skills.
