  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills to interact with all organizational levels and external contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain government-owned telephony switches (PBX), including Nortel Meridian Option 81C.
  • Troubleshoot and repair switch issues effectively.
  • Conduct software updates and patching on systems as needed.
  • Install and configure switch hardware to meet operational requirements.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure performance and uptime.
  • Provide support for voicemail systems and Remote Intelligent Peripheral Equipment (IPE).
  • Travel to remote locations weekly using a company vehicle to ensure operational readiness.

Overview

Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Technician (PSTS-2026-):

Bowhead seeks to network with a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Technician for a future or upcoming tasking to provide Base Telecom Support at the Whidbey Island, WA. The Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Technician effort will provide telecommunications operations and maintenance (O&M). This position will require both in office and infield experienceand duties.

On job and verification training is offered for all full time Bowhead employees after 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Job duties incude but are not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain government-ownedtelephony switches (PBX), including:
    • Nortel Meridian Option 81C
  • Perform:
    • Troubleshooting and repair of switch issues
    • Software updates and patching
    • Installation and configuration of switch hardware
    • Daily operation monitoring
    • Support for voicemail systems and IPE (Remote Intelligent Peripheral Equipment)
  • Utilize company vehicle to travel to remote locations weekly.
  • Ensure switch systems remain fully operational and compliant with DoD/Navy standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Targeted pay range is $36.44/hr- 45.00/hr based on interview and experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
