Full Job Description
The Principal Technical Business Systems Analyst will lead the evaluation of complex business processes and systems, identifying and implementing solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. This role will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, Architects, System Analysts, Quality Assurance, and Engineers to translate complex business needs into system requirements and support product delivery. The Principal Business Systems Analyst will also provide leadership within the Analyst community, influence best practices, contribute to future application roadmaps, and coach and mentor other Analysts.

What you will do:
  • Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to gather and document business requirements for software development projects.
  • Analyze and translate business needs into clear, concise user stories that align with project goals.
  • Conduct complex and vital work independently, exercising judgment and influencing best practices within the discipline.
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure a shared understanding of project requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, story mapping, storyboarding, workflow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions to support requirements for IT development projects.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Engineers to review story requirements and validate system functionality.
  • Troubleshoot issues, conduct impact analysis, and recommend solutions.
  • Review system enhancements with project stakeholders.
  • Create flow diagrams and document technical solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in business analysis and Agile methodologies.
  • Coach and mentor other Analysts and lead the COE for the Analyst community within the Value stream.
  • Provide solutions to complex business problems and work closely with Architects and System Analysts.
  • Participate in future application roadmaps and contribute ideas to make applications more scalable and resilient.
  • Act as a key point of contact for business queries, particularly during major incidents.

What you will bring:
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience working with development and systems teams as a Lead Business Systems Analyst.
  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ability to identify and solve business problems through innovative and practical solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to understand stakeholder needs and convey technical information clearly.
  • Proficiency in collecting, documenting, and managing system requirements from stakeholders.
  • Understanding of technology and systems, including highly complex multi-platform applications and databases, to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
  • Effective documentation skills to create comprehensive reports, manuals, workflows, and specifications.
  • Ability to manage tasks, timelines, and resources effectively to support successful project delivery.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes in project scope, requirements, or technological advancements.
  • A high level of proficiency with technology, including SQL, Toad, MS Access, Excel, and/or SharePoint.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile development methodology, including experience with Jira and Confluence.

Base Salary Range
$114,000.00 - $165,300.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
